The TCL Q7 or Q750G with a 77-inch screen diagonal is now on sale at Best Buy at a sizeable 45% discount. The TV is part of TCL's 2023 lineup and features a 120 Hz VA panel with VRR support, full-array Local Dimming, and excellent brightness.

When it comes to technology, paying more often gets you a better product. This is true for laptops, phones, and is also true for TVs. So, if money is not an issue, spending thousands can get you flagship TVs like the LG G5 OLED and the Bravia A95L OLED. But. this doesn’t mean that you can’t have a good TV for much cheaper. On the contrary, TVs with pleasing picture quality and nifty gaming features can be had for well under $1,000.

Case in point, the 77-inch TCL Q7 or the Q750G 4K TV is now retailing for just $599.99 at Best Buy. The TV features a VA panel, around 200 Local Dimming Zones, and gaming features like VRR support and a 120 Hz refresh rate. All of these combined make the TCL Q750G 77-inch an excellent choice for folks who are on the hunt for a budget TV.

Per Rtings, the key qualities that set the TCL Q7 apart are its incredible contrast, high HDR/SDR brightness, a wide color gamut, and features like content smoothing. For instance, the 77-inch TCL Q7 boasts a native contrast of 9,614:1, a strong result. With Local Dimming enabled, the contrast shoots up to a truly impressive 80,160:1.

Similarly, the TV has a 25% Peak HDR Window Brightness of over 900 nits, while the Peak SDR Brightness stands at 548 nits. So, even if the TCL Q7 doesn’t handle glare well, the high brightness should help in fighting reflections.

On the topic of shortcomings, the viewing angles of the TCL Q7 aren’t perfect. Also, be sure to calibrate the TV (Rtings has a handy guide for that), as the TCL Q7 doesn’t come well-calibrated out of the box.

Finally, the TCL Q7 also packs must-have gaming capabilities like a 120 Hz panel, Nvidia G-Sync/AMD FreeSync VRR support, a short response time, and low input lag. Additionally, the TV fully supports all output resolutions of gaming consoles like the PS5 and the Xbox Series S | X (Available on Amazon).
