While the big three television makers are continuously improving on their already impressive OLED panels, the Chinese underdog TCL is putting more effort into the development of its Mini-LED technology. Therefore, TV sets such as the new TCL QM8 are a viable OLED alternative for HDR enthusiasts in particular, who can now save a few bucks on one of these latest superbright displays from the 2023 model year.

More specifically, Amazon is selling the huge 75-inch version of the TCL QM8 for just US$1,799, which is the result of a relatively steep US$500 or 22 percent discount. The QLED panel further features a fast 120Hz refresh rate, and the manufacturer explicitly advertises this set as a great gaming display as it further sports HDMI 2.1 ports with support for all-important features like ALLM and VRR. Thanks to up to 2,300 dimming zones, these screens should also have a great contrast ratio and excellent black levels. In the end, prospective TV buyers who would like to avoid the rather rare but still possible OLED burn-in may want to consider this notable deal.
