Deal | 75-inch Samsung QN90C mini-LED TV receives a 43% price cut on Amazon, dropping to its lowest ever
Customers who are on the hunt for a new high-end smart TV, but are unwilling to digest the potential longevity woes that come with an OLED TV, are sure to have Samsung's mini-LED TVs on their radar. Thanks to an ongoing sale on Amazon, the Samsung QN90C QLED smart TV, which came out in 2023, can now be purchased for 'just' $1,697, its lowest price ever on the platform.
The QN90C can also be bought from Best Buy or Samsung's official US store for $1,699. A quick check on Camelcamelcamel and other price trackers reveals that these are indeed the lowest prices for the TV so far. All three platforms are well-reputed vendors offering free shipping and easy returns, so potential buyers can enjoy a hassle-free purchase experience.
As for the TV's performance, the Samsung QN90C excels in most areas and is more than capable of fulfilling its owner's needs. Although the TV can't match the contrast ratios or black levels of an OLED panel, the QN90C's mini-LED panel with 720 dimming zones offers excellent contrast, albeit with some noticeable blooming around bright areas with dark backgrounds, which is typical of mini-LED displays.
However, the TV does get impressively bright, reaching a peak brightness of 687 nits at a 100% window as per Rting's comprehensive review, which is significantly higher than OLED TVs such as the similarly priced S90C OLED, also from Samsung. This allows for a great viewing experience, even in brightly lit rooms. The panel also boasts impressive color volume and accuracy, although it still lags slightly behind the S90C OLED in this regard.
Gaming enthusiasts will surely appreciate the four HDMI ports, all supporting the HDMI 2.1 spec, allowing for 4K at 120 Hz. The TV also supports VRR, and thanks to its low input lag and sufficiently fast response times, allows for a nifty HDR gaming experience. Note that an OLED TV will still outperform the QN90C in this regard, offering near-instantaneous response times, but those who are not willing to take the risk of OLED burn-in or have higher brightness requirements will most likely still be pleased with the QN90C QLED TV from Samsung.
