$6,200 Wuling Hongguang Mini EV (2026) gains 187-mile range, other upgrades

Wuling introduced the updated Hongguang Mini EV (2026) in late March 2026 with four variants priced between $6,200 and $7,600 (before subsidies). It offers a newly minted exterior with circular headlights and a boxier profile. The company describes it as a ‘sweet square’.
The interior has also received an upgrade. In addition to more than a dozen storage compartments, there is a 10.1-inch central touchscreen and a new dashboard. A column-mounted gear selector provides more room in the center console.
The refreshed Mini EV model now has remote climate control on the HVAC system. The rear seats fold flat to create 838 litres of storage space.
The four-door portable EV now charges faster. The battery fills up from 30 percent to 80 percent in 35 minutes, making it more practical for daily commuting. Range, however, is one of the biggest upgrades of this ultra-affordable car. The top trim delivers up to 187 miles (301 km) of CLTC-rated driving range, or roughly 130 miles under EPA standards.
The Hongguang Mini EV is one of China’s most popular electric vehicles, with over 1.9 million units sold globally to date.
