The Apple iPad mini 7 is an excellent tablet, and is undoubtedly one of the best in its category. Thanks to Amazon's 4th of July sale, the capable mini tablet can now be purchased for its all-time low price of just $399 once again.
Powered by the A17 Pro SoC, the iPad mini 7 sports excellent performance, managing to defeat its competition in most synthetic benchmarks. Gaming performance is decent, although hardcore gamers will be far better served by something like the Lenovo Legion gaming tablet, which boasts a high-refresh rate display. Casual users, however, will likely never find any room for complaint regarding the iPad mini's overall performance.
In our extensive review of the Apple iPad mini 7, we did convey our dissatisfaction with the thickness of the bezels around the 8.3-inch display. The display itself is pretty good, featuring a resolution of 2266 x 1488, which allows for a decent pixel density of 326 PPI. The 60 Hz refresh rate is another pain point - one that Apple is unlikely to fix anytime soon.
As an overall package, the iPad mini 7 is a solid purchase for the vast majority of casual users. The performance is excellent, the display is perfectly pleasing, and the 12 MP front and rear cameras perform reasonably well. Wireless connectivity is taken care of by Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 - neither are the latest, but should do the job well enough.
At its current all-time low price on Amazon, the iPad mini 7 is a deal worthy of attention, and folks with lightweight workloads and content consumption requirements are likely to have a great time with Apple's latest mini tablet.
