Deal | 27-inch, 240 Hz, 1440p LG OLED gaming monitor with AMD FreeSync drops to all-time-low price in Amazon sale

There are a number of 27-inch LG Ultragear OLED gaming monitors kicking about, but the 27GS93QE-B sticks out for its combination of pixel density, gaming features, and solid value — especially at its current price on Amazon. The LG Ultragear 27GS93QE normally retails for $899.99 and has a 240 Hz refresh rate, 1440p resolution, and decent brightness for gaming. At the time of writing, the LG 27GS93QE is available for just $499.99 after a steep discount on Amazon.
The LG Ultragear 27-inch OLED gaming monitor backs up its 240 Hz refresh rate with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and a G-Sync Compatible rating from Nvidia. The variable refresh rate allows the monitor to match in-game frame rates anywhere from 20 Hz to 240 Hz, making it ideal for both FPS games and story games. The 1440p resolution means it shouldn't be too difficult for most mid-range PCs to drive at high frame rates and native resolution.
Reviews by the likes of RTings praise the monitor for its build quality, colour accuracy, and decent colour accuracy and coverage — while it's not a content creation monitor, 99% coverage of the sRGB colour gamut could get you started on some basic video or photo editing for web applications. RTings also measured remarkably low response times, with the display presenting a new picture as quickly every 0.7 ms at worst and 0.1 ms at best, with 0.3 ms average response times.

Unlike many other OLED displays, the LG Ultragear has a matte display coating, which may be able to beat back reflections and combat the mediocre 340-nit peak brightness measured by RTings, depending on your setup and lighting conditions. The LG Ultragear 27GS95QE-B's stand also offers a decent range of adjustment for height, tilt, and swivel, as well as the ability to rotate the display into portrait orientation.
The connectivity and the USB hub are neat features to keep your desktop clean, even if the lack of USB Type-C is something of a drawback. The LG Ultragear 27GS95QE also has no built-in speakers, which is generally not a major loss for gamers. LG also offers a number of features to help increase the lifespan of the OLED panel in the 27GS95QE, from Pixel and Image Cleaning, which automatically refresh individual pixels and the whole image, to Screen Move, which shifts the image over by a few pixels, and Screen Saver, which just turns the display off when inactive. LG also offers a two-year warranty on the OLED panel, which offers some peace of mind.
