2024 Polestar 2 EV unveiled with longer range of up to 635 km and new 220 kW motors
The 2024 Polestar 2 has been unveiled with an improved range. The Long range Single motor RWD model will have up to 635 km (~395 miles) WLTP range; the shortest range will be for the Standard range Single motor EV at 518 km (~322 miles) on a single charge. The equivalent 2023 models have 550 km (~341 miles) and 478 km (~297 miles) range, respectively.
The electric vehicle has received a facelift alongside new 220 kW 490 Nm motors, which promise improved efficiency and performance; the older model had a 170 kW motor with 330 Nm of torque. These motors enable you to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph (~60 mph) in 6.2 seconds in a single motor model, 1.2 seconds faster than before. Charging the Polestar 2 is now faster, with the 82 kWh CATL long-range batteries capable of 205 kW DC charging and the standard range LG Chem 69 kWh batteries 135 kW.
SmartZone has arrived on the Polestar 2, a feature already available in the Polestar 3. The grille replacement contains the radars and cameras used by the car for safety features. New standard equipment in the vehicle includes a wireless phone charger and Driver Awareness features like Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and Rear Collision Warning. You can now order the 2023 Polestar 2 in Europe starting from €50,190 (~US$54,534), with deliveries expected to begin later this year.
