T-Echo Card: Compact LoRa gadget features GNSS, sensors, and solar panel—no LTE or 5G required

We have previously covered LoRa technology —a protocol for (encrypted) long-range transmission of small data packets outside traditional cellular networks. LilyGo's new T-Echo Card leverages this technology to offer a versatile feature set for outdoor and monitoring applications.
Equipped with a GNSS module, the compact device can broadcast real-time location data, making it suitable for tracking hiking routes or managing vehicle fleets. An integrated accelerometer allows the unit to trigger status alerts upon detecting motion—useful, for example, as a perimeter sensor for remote gates or pastures. The board also includes built-in microphone and speaker modules.
To extend battery life in the field, the T-Echo Card incorporates a small 0.25 W solar panel. While insufficient to power continuous data transmission and active sensing indefinitely, it can trickle-charge a battery. Measuring 90 x 60 x 9.5 mm, the board also houses a 72 x 40-pixel OLED panel, an NFC reader and carries an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance.
