We've often reported on e-readers that come in various different shapes and sizes, including the smartphone form factor. The new iReader Tango belongs in that category and is now available in China for the equivalent of roughly $250. Although this brand of e-book readers is not officially available in most western markets, they can be ordered via import.
With that out of the way, the iReader Tango features a 6.13-inch e-ink display. To be more exact, it’s a Carta 1300 panel with a resolution of 1648 x 842 pixels. It does not support colors but can display 256 grayscale levels. According to the manufacturer, a certain display mode can push the refresh rate up to 30Hz, which should be adequate even for moving images. That being said, the iReader Tango is primarily designed for e-books and other text-heavy documents. Its backlight color temperature is adjustable as well.
Moreover, this new e-book reader has an internal storage capacity of 128GB, 8GB of RAM and an octa-core processor. Buttons are located on the left side of the device, while the 3,900mAh battery provides enough power for a standby time of up to 27 days. WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity are both supported. Users who are looking for a similarly sized e-reader that doesn’t have to be imported might want to check out the Onyx Boox Palma 2 on Amazon.
