Foxconn's plant located in Chennai, India is reportedly preparing to manufacture the vanilla iPhone 13 from early 2022. This new production run for the flagship device is projected to fuel exports as well as national sales, thus potentially helping to ease its prevailing supply issues worldwide.

The iPhone 13 has been found to be the most popular of its series in terms of sales in the Indian market thus far. Now, consumers may be able to buy a unit made in their home country in 2022. Foxconn, a company typically associated with the manufacture of mobile devices to Apple's order, has reportedly started to assess production of the vanilla flagship variant at its plant in the major industrial hub of Chennai.

The factory is now projected to be ready for mass iPhone 13 production by February 2022. The actual volume of shipments involved has yet to be revealed; however, it is said that a certain proportion of them is destined for sale in India, whereas the rest are intended for export to the more global market.

20% to 30% of this new iPhone 13 supply is reportedly slated for the latter, leaving the rest for circulation in their new 'home country'. This distribution plan may thus alleviate the current bottleneck acting on the ability to get the device on shelves worldwide.
