Xiaomi has recently built on its breakout EV success with the release of the YU7, the company's first SUV. Those who would prefer the same car but with a longer body and 6 to 7 seats might also be in luck soon.
It is said to have more of a "full-sized SUV" design that might be taller and more squared-off than its predecessor, with a total length currently estimated at 5.3 meters (~17.4ft).
These predictions are mostly based on some alleged in-the-wild, partially camo-obscured shots of the car currently circulating on Weibo. It might also have Xiaomi's first-ever EREV system.
The supposed all-wheel-drive set-up is thought to integrate a turbo-charged, 1.5-litre motor supplied by Dong'an that might yield up to 1,500 kilometers (~932 miles) of range, although its ancillary electric motor might go for up to 200km (~124 miles) per charge on its own.
The car is also projected to come with a HyperOS-powered infotainment system, Xiaomi smart-home device integration and up to 800V charging.
Accordingly, the "YU9" is now backed to rival similar cars such as the Aito M9 and Li Auto L9 on its 2026 launch.
