Toyota is on an electric roll, unveiling the third EV for the US market this week. The automobile behemoth has announced the 2026 bZ Woodland SUV, the rugged, all-terrain version of the bZ. The bZ is the upgraded version of the bZ4X SUV, which Toyota struggled to sell.
The bZ Woodland is yet another EV built on the e-TNGA platform. Like the Subaru Outback, it is aimed at the outdoor crowd. Toyota is offering all-wheel drive as standard on the new car, which will output 375 hp from its two electric motors, giving it more grunt than its more suburban sibling.
Another standard feature is the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, allowing the Toyota bz Woodland to charge with Tesla’s Superchargers. The battery, which can be boosted from 10 to 80 percent in about half an hour, lasts 260 miles without charging.
The bZ Woodland is six inches longer than the standard bZ, allowing off-roaders to bring more gear in the trunk. Toyota has also raised the ground clearance to 8.3 inches. Other adventure-focused features include standard roof rails, a 3,500-pound towing capacity, and optional all-terrain tires. Drivers can activate the Toyota X-Mode system for more road grip when it is time to leave city life behind and explore the less-beaten tracks.
There is no word yet on the pricing, but Toyota expects the bZ Woodland to be on the market in the first months of 2026.
