By most accounts, Xiaomi will present its new Xiaomi 16 series phones in China at the very end of September. Details of the phones have slowly been revealed in revent weeks, and the latest now provides some further insight.
As revealed by leaker Kartikey Singh, the vanilla Xiaomi 16 will arrive with a 7,000 mAh battery in tow. That's consistent with prior reports on the matter and would ensure the Xiaomi 16 squares up rather nicely with a similar compact premium phone like the OnePlus 15T.
Interestingly, the Xiaomi 16 Pro—expected to be an identical size to the base Xiaomi 16—is tipped to sport a smaller 6,300 mAh battery. While that sounds underwhelming compared to the Xiaomi 16, it must be recalled that the Xiaomi 15 Pro is equipped with a 6,100 mAh unit, despite also being larger than the Xiaomi 16 Pro is rumored to be.
According to a different source, the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max—a larger device than the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro—could launch with a massive 7,500 mAh battery. Either way, if previous generations are anything to go by, the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max is unlikely to launch globally, making it a less interesting point of conversation to most fans.
