If you were to look for the definition of "perfectly average laptop," you'd probably find a picture of the Toshiba Satellite L645D-S4030. The Toshiba Satellite L645D-S4030 is a decent all-around budget laptop. However, with its short battery life and cheaper options available from the competition, it's not an overly impressive deal.

The Toshiba Satellite M645 is an impressive 14-inch notebook with a nearly perfect balance of everything you want in a back-to-school laptop. Starting configurations priced at just $720 make this notebook a very good value. This higher-end configuration, priced at $1,050, is a little more expensive than we prefer (we'd like to see it for less than $1,000). Still, Toshiba offers a lot of notebook for a fair price in this package. The only two areas where the Satellite M645 failed to meet or exceed our expectations were screen lid protection and hard drive performance. Since this laptop was clearly designed with students in mind, we want to see a durable lid (students aren't always careful with laptops). The slow hard drive probably won't be an issue for the overwhelming majority of users, but if you want to get the best possible performance from this laptop it really needs a faster drive. Bottom line, despite a few minor issues, the Toshiba Satellite M645 makes a great choice for students who are looking for a 14-inch laptop and want the "best bang for their buck."

NVIDIA GeForce 310M: The GeForce 310M is the successor of the GeFore G210M and based on the same chip with very similar clock rates (shader speed +30MHz to 1530MHz).
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.

With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.

Toshiba was one of the largest manufacturers of personal computers, consumer electronics, home appliances and medical equipment.
67%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
