Well, the Toshiba Qosmio X70 is a very competitive 17.3″ gaming laptop for 1000$-1200$ and especially when you can find it for around 1000$ or even less. The screen is good enough for a gamer, the GTX 770M performance is there and it’s quiet.

80% Toshiba Qosmio X75 A7298 review: A desktop replacement that won’t break the bank—or your back
Source: PC World English Archive.org version
I was surprised at how quietly the Qosmio X75 ran, considering all the high-performance hardware stuffed inside it. Less surprising is the brief battery life, though 2 hours, 22 minutes is still more than enough time to watch a full-length movie (not that this behemoth would fit on an airline tray table). This computer can do it all and anywhere, so it's a great choice for a desktop replacement.

Some things in the PC universe can change a lot in a short period of time. We're now living in a world of touch screens, detachable keyboards, and 12-plus hours of battery life.Toshiba's multimedia and gaming Qosmio X75 laptop gets great performance from its high-end components at a reasonable price, but the design and some features feel dated.

With its monstrous power, gorgeous display and impressive audio quality, the Qosmio X75 is a beastly gaming rig. Throw in its sexy design and wonderful keyboard and you've got a contender for one of the top gaming laptops around. What makes the Qosmio all the more impressive is its relatively low $1,769 price.

The Hulk of gaming. Toshiba has now introduced its latest offspring from the Qosmio series. It is a device of superlatives. Powerful processor, masses of RAM, vast storage capacity, speedy graphics and a large Full HD screen. That sounds tempting but can this behemoth deliver what it promises? 60% A gaming laptop that makes a loud first impression
Source: Techradar English Archive.org version
The Qosmio has undeniable power levels thanks to its current-generation hardware, but the Toshiba's table-topping benchmark results are undermined by small flaws elsewhere: the battery life isn't up to scratch, the keyboard and build quality are mediocre, and the volume from the Harmon/Kardon speakers isn't matched by good quality. As for the price, it's just too high. The Asus and Gigabyte machines offer similar power and similar flaws for hundreds of pounds less. And if you're determined to spend this amount on a gaming notebook, the MSI GS70 Stealth is a more rounded package.

The laptop’s biggest failing actually came by way of battery life, which isn’t a big surprise from a machine of this size. In our video rundown test, the Qosmio lasted two hours and 20 minutes. If you’re interested in getting a laptop this large, you’re most likely going to use it as a desktop replacement, thus battery life isn’t really an issue.

The Toshiba Qosmio X75-A7295 is a very affordable 17-inch laptop with some impressive 3D and general performance. It is also thinner and lighter than many of the other 17-inch gaming laptops on the market but this comes at the price of a much smaller battery with half the running time. The standout feature of the system though is the very bright and colorful display that is certainly better than most of them on the market.

Performance break. Toshiba's multimedia notebook Qosmio X70 is available for 1,300 Euros (~$1411). For that money you get a lot of processing performance, but there is not enough GPU power for gaming and fast SSD storage would be good for the system as well.

60% Toshiba Qosmio X70-B-10T review: A 17.3in beast designed for gaming, this power laptop needs taming
Source: Tech Advisor English Archive.org version
The Toshiba Qosmio X70 in its ‘B’ form with Haswell processor is a relatively powerful quad-core laptop with some gaming potential. But our games tests suggest the AMD solution here is not as fast as older nVidia graphics processors, let alone the rival firm’s latest 800 and 900 series GPUs made for mobile gaming. Our experience with a flakey trackpad may be isolated but serious enough that we would hastily return this laptop for a refund if we were a paying customer. Laptop build is improved over earlier Toshiba models, but at this price we would like to see better screen quality and a real solid-state drive for storage.

Toshiba: Toshiba Corporation is a Japanese conglomerate or technology group. The company was established in 1939 and in 1978 Toshiba became the official company name. The company's products and services include power, industrial and social infrastructure systems, elevators and escalators, electronic components, semiconductors, hard drives, printers, batteries, lighting, logistics and information technology. Toshiba was one of the largest manufacturers of personal computers, consumer electronics, home appliances and medical equipment.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M: Upcoming high-end graphics card for laptops and part of the 700M series.

AMD Radeon R9 M265X:

Mid-range mobile GPU based on the GCN architecture with GDDR5 memory.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.

4700MQ: Haswell-based quad-core processor clocked at 2.4 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.4 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU and a dual channel DDR3 memory controller.

4710HQ: Haswell-based quad-core processor clocked at 2.5 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.5 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU and a dual channel DDR3 memory controller.

4720HQ: Haswell-based quad-core processor clocked at 2.6 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.6 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU and a dual channel DDR3 memory controller.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

2.9 kg:

With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.

3.6 kg:

A laptop with this weight is comparatively heavy and less designed for mobility than for use at the desk. Therefore, the devices tend to shine less with battery life than with a large screen and higher performance.

75%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
