The Toshiba Portege R830 is small and portable, with a good quality keyboard and a nice, matte screen. Toshiba could have done more with the design, but there are models to keep those who do, and don’t need optical drives, happy.

Intel HD Graphics 3000: Integrated graphics card in the Intel Sandy Bridge processors (Core ix-2xxx). The HD 3000 is the faster (internally GT2 called) version with 12 Execution Units (EUs).
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.2 GHz and features the Turbo Boost 2.0 only for the graphics card (650/1100MHz).

The advantage of a small display is, that the subnotebook can be small dimensioned and can be carried easily. Further the small display needs few energy, which improves the battery runtime and in consequence the mobility. 1.4 kg: This subnotebook is one of the most lightweight of all notebooks and can be carried very easily. There exist only few sub-notebooks, which weight less. 10 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.
