Titanic-themed free horror game goes trending on Steam shortly after launch

While a bunch of free games are released on Steam every now and then, only a few get popular, and Watertight is one of them. It was launched on the platform on August 26, 2025, and shortly after release, the title secured a spot in the "New & Trending" chart.

It's developed by Tiny Studio, an indie developer, and this free game on Steam puts players in a one-man submarine, tasked to find the wreck of the Titanic. However, during the journey, an accident cripples the vessel, and the whole premise is about restoring the life support of the submarine.

During the restoration process, however, players find that they are not alone in the depths, and the horror ambience of the title amplifies the feeling of claustrophobia. Players also praise the game's ability to offer an unsettling feeling without any jump scares.

On the note of the restoration tasks, they are basically puzzles. Per the players who have tried this free game, these puzzles are fun to solve, and the dark environment makes them a bit challenging. While the title offers about 30 minutes of gameplay, it's said to provide an immersive experience, and the 1950s deep-sea setting makes the whole playthrough eerie.
