Android 12L will be the latest OS custom-designed for tablets from Google on its launch. Despite this, its latest beta version for Lenovo's high-end Tab P12 Pro is not rated for many new features. It has an upgraded security patch, albeit not one from 2022.

The Lenovo Tab P12 Pro is one of a handful of devices enrolled in the Android 12L beta initiative. The tablet's Developer Preview Program's website has just posted an updated version of this work-in-progress OS. Despite this novelty, however, it seems little progress has been made with its UI and features.

Lenovo's updated page merely amends its text to say that there is a Tab P12 Pro 12L Beta 2, and little else. There is a security patch upgrade - however, it only goes up to the December 2021 level (despite the fact a February 2022 version is now out there).

Therefore, it seems the Android 12L beta is still for app-testing and little else at this point. In addition, Lenovo's version should only be installed on non-Chinese versions of the P12 Pro without cellular service.

Installing the beta might prevent a roll-back to a stable UI on any other variant, leaving them unable to use a swathe of the tablet's more desirable features, fingerprint authentication, depth-sensing features and some HDMI functions included.
