TecSox has expanded its offerings by launching a brand new projector in India. The Revo Android Smart Projector was apparently designed with portability and affordability in mind, and is currently available directly from TecSox for Rs 6,499 (which converts to $74.16 at the time of writing).
This projector features a "rotatable design" that allows for use in various environments. In terms of performance, the projector has support for both 4K and HDR10 input, and features a 2.69-inch wide LCD panel that can project onto screen sizes ranging from 40 to 200 inches. It also has a brightness of "11,000 lumens" and a claimed lamp life of 30,000 hours. These are not ISO or ANSI lumens, mind you; the company is also keeping its lips tight when it comes to the projector's output resolution. For all we know, it could be as low as 640 by 480 for blurry fonts and overall underwhelming HD content playback.
For image alignment, the Revo offers both electric focus and a ±50° auto keystone correction, which reduces the need for manual calibration.
The Revo runs on Android 13 or Android 11 - the official product page somehow mentions both - offering the user access to a relatively wide selection of streaming platforms and apps. According to TecSox, the projector supports over 5,000 apps, including but not limited to Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney Plus.
It also features a very modest 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage. There is no word on what SoC is powering the whole deal. What is known is that WiFi 6 connectivity (2.4GHz and 5GHz) is onboard, as well as Bluetooth 5.0 for connections to devices such as external speakers or smartphones.
The Revo joins a sea of other ultra-affordable projector options currently available on the market, such as those from Zebronnics and Wzatco. It may or may not be an alternative to costlier projectors from the likes of BenQ and Nebula; this mostly depends on the user's expectations and needs. Cheaper projectors tend to suffer from a host of issues such as slow UI and poor color accuracy.
