Ever since AMD CEO Dr Lisa Su promised to bring Strix Halo to mini-PCs, we've seen a deluge of offerings from the likes of GMKTek, BeeLink, Minisforum and others. Laptops, on the other hand, are still few and far between, with the only mainstream options being the HP ZBook Ultra G1a 14 and Asus ROG Flow Z13. A new contender has finally entered the arena with some impressive specs.
Sixunited, which previously showcased the Strix Halo-powered AXB35-02 mini-PC, has now unveiled its newest laptop, the XN77-160M-CS. It supports Ryzen AI Max 300 series chips, with no specific SKU mentioned. The TDP maxes out at 120 Watts, with an optional 85-Watt configuration available. Both come with a dual-fan design.
The Sixunited XN77-160M-CS comes with a 16-inch 2,560 x 1,600 LCD/OLED panel with a 500 nits peak brightness and 165 Hz refresh rate. It supports up to a 99.9 Wh battery, the maximum possible on a laptop. For storage, it comes with two M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD slots. RAM won't be expandable because Strix Halo comes with soldered LPDDR5X modules.
For I/O, Sixunited offers two USB 4.0 ports, two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, an SD card reader, an RJ45 Ethernet jack, an HDMI 2.1 port and a 3.5 mm audio jack. No price is specified, and it is unlikely to be available to the general consumer, as Sixunited typically sells to other OEMs, who then resell it. Either way, it has some decent specs, and a fully decked-out laptop with such a design will easily cost a pretty penny.
