Ricoh has announced the Ricoh360 Theta A1 360-degree camera with features designed for business users.
The company has been producing 360-degree cameras since the launch of the Theta M15 in 2013. They were initially targeted toward the consumer market, allowing photographers to capture the view in all directions with one photo. Tepid consumer interest in 360-degree photography and videography has led Ricoh to shift the brand to focus on business users.
The Theta A1 is sold to businesses as a package that includes the camera, software, and support. The metallic gray camera is designed to be easy to use. A single press takes a photo and automatically uploads the image to the Ricoh360 Cloud for distribution to designated viewers. The upload over Wi-Fi continues even when the camera has been put to sleep, eliminating issues with interrupted transfers.
The A1 has automatic image noise reduction and a metal tripod socket for low-light photography indoors and at night. The camera has been designed to continue operating in high temperatures up to 40 °C and is IP64-rated for dust and splash resistance. Further details have not been released.
Sales are expected to begin in August 2025. Readers who can't wait can buy a different Theta camera from Ricoh's website or the Ricoh store on Amazon.
