RedMagic is set to launch a new lineup of gaming phones, the 10S Pro series. With recent teasers, the company has already confirmed that the lineup will feature a large 7,500 mAh battery with support for 120 W fast charging (200 W Ugreen Nexode 25K power bank curr. $99.99 on Amazon). The smartphones are also confirmed to sport a 95.3% screen-to-body ratio, which aims to offer an immersive gaming experience.
On that note, RedMagic has just shared that the 10S Pro series will come with a built-in PC emulator. While the company didn't offer much details about it, this pre-loaded emulation app appears to be for emulating Windows games, possibly similar to Winlator.
Of course, RedMagic isn't the first Chinese smartphone manufacturer to pull this move. Earlier in 2025, Xiaomi introduced WinPlay, a three-layer virtualization tool that can emulate Windows PC games. One of the notable aspects of Xiaomi's integration is that it can run Steam, which aims to offer easy access to the users' PC game library on the supported Android devices.
Nubia's integration for the RedMagic 10S Pro series, on the other hand, appears to be a little more promising. As the company has recently revealed, the lineup will pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version, which is an overclocked version of the regular SoC.
Paired with an active cooling solution, this overclocked SoC inside the upcoming RedMagic gaming phones should be able to emulate a handful of PC games at playable frame rates. The company has also highlighted that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version will be paired with an in-house R3 Pro chip for an enhanced gaming experience. More details about the built-in Windows game emulator are expected to emerge before the May 26, 2025, launch.
