One of 2024's best post-apocalyptic FPS shooters has received a 20% discount on Steam. Stalker 2 launched at the tail end of last year to mixed reviews due to a plethora of bugs, most of which have been fixed via subsequent updates.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl (subsequently referred to as Stalker 2 for brevity) was easily one of the best post-apocalyptic games to come out last year. Many were surprised it came out at all, given its numerous delays and the overwhelming odds faced by developer GSC Game World due to an ongoing geopolitical conflict. If you're looking to play it, the game has been discounted by 20% on Steam.

In our in-depth Stalker 2 review, we had a lot of fun with the game. Its open world can be brutal and unforgiving, and its severely limited fast travel capabilities meant you'd have to plan your trips in advance. Stalker 2 builds upon the story of its predecessor, S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl, pretty well with many familiar characters making a cameo. Its next two games, Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat were also well represented.

One of the many quirks players had with Stalker 2 at launch were the laundry list of bugs. That, combined with some imbalanced aspects like a way-too-expensive economy and paltry side quest rewards, made the whole experience borderline frustrating. But, GSC Game World has been hard at work fixing said bugs, and while some of them are still around, Stalker 2 plays far better now than it did at launch.

Plus, fans have been hard at work developing mods for Stalker 2. The Stalker series has always been modder friendly, and you can further customize your experience by installing one of the many mods available on websites like Nexus mods. The 20% discount mentioned above applies to all versions of the game (base, Deluxe and Ultimate). The last two options are recommended for those who want to play the game often and not miss out on DLC when it eventually comes out.
