The Minisforum MS-S1 Max launched as a new Stirx Halo mini PC that comes with two USB4 v2 ports. This powerful system with 128 GB of RAM is now available to pre-order on the global store at $2,299.

Minisforum has made the MS-S1 Max mini PC available to purchase. It's currently available on the global store with 128 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage. The pre-order price is $2,299, and it's possible to get a $30 discount by using the S1MAX30 coupon code during checkout.

As for the mini PC itself, the MS-S1 Max was first introduced in China in early September 2025. It's among the first mini PCs that come with USB4 v2 ports, which offer a transmission speed of 80 Gbps, a 2x jump over the first version. This makes the newer port a better option over OCuLink for eGPU setups.

Under the hood, the mini PC packs the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, a top-end APU from the Strix Halo lineup. It features the Radeon 8060S, the most powerful iGPU that AMD currently offers. As we noted in our in-depth analysis, this iGPU delivers a similar level of performance as the Nvidia RTX 4070 Laptop, and in our tests, we found the MS-S1 Max to be well capable of handling any AAA games at the 1080p resolution.

Users also have the option to install a dGPU in this mini PC, as there's a free PCIe x16 slot inside, which is, however, limited to x4 speed. Moreover, as we noted in our review, Minisforum didn't do a good job designing the chassis so that it directs a good amount of airflow to this expansion slot.

Among the other highlights of the mini PC are a peak 160 W performance mode, a high-quality chassis, a rich collection of ports, and easy storage upgradability (4 TB Samsung 990 EVO Plus curr. $239.99 on Amazon). You can learn more about the Minisforum MS-S1 Max from our in-depth review.
