A new leak claims to reveal the official details of Samsung's upcoming flagship SoC, the Exynos 2200. This new leak essentially confirms significantly better peak performance than current-gen SoCs like the Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100, thanks to a new Cortex X2 super-core.

Earlier this week, a Geekbench listing provided a taste of what to expect from the upcoming Exynos 2200, as well as information on its cores and their frequencies. A new, leak, however, has now claimed to reveal the official basic details of the chipset.

As revealed by leaker Ice Universe, the Exynos 2200 will utilize a tri-cluster of cores. Providing big performance muscles will be a single Cortex-X2 core clocked at 2.9 GHz. That makes sense as the X1 core on the outgoing Exynos 2100 is clocked at 2.91 GHz. Joining the X2 core are what we expect to be three Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.8 GHz, and four efficiency-focused Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz. Again identical to the Exynos 2100's clock speeds. The onboard AMD mRDNA GPU is listed at 1250 MHz.

While previous leaks showed lower clock speeds, they may not be wrong either. According to Ice Universe, this version of the Exynos 2200 may be exclusive to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which would mean lower performance for the Galaxy S22 and S22+.
