Xiaomi's Mix series debuted in 2016 with the first-gen Mi Mix as the company's experimental lineup. Since 2021's Mix 4, however, Xiaomi has only released its foldable models in the lineup but that may be set to change shortly.
Recent reports indicate Xiaomi is working on a Mix 5 to directly succeed the Mix 4. This phone will be a traditional candy bar-style device and not a foldable like more recent Mix series offerings, and now appears to have surfaced in the wild for the first time. As shared by WhyLab, a device alleged to be the Xiaomi Mix 5 has now received its first listing at a Chinese agency, with the phone bearing the model number "2505DPXD7C".
The listing doesn't reveal much else about the device in question, other than support for typical Chinese network bands. Interestingly, however, the source alludes to the presence of a "surround screen" on the Mix 5. It's unclear what that means, and no further clarification is provided, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the Mix 5 arrive with an entirely new design feature, as that's what the lineup has always been about.
