MSI MegaBook M677 Crystal is already well-known, since it is a model from the special Crystal series. This mobile computer has an extra-fine finish, with the lid in the “piano” style and decorated with Swarovski crystals. This gives it an extremely elegant looks. All 3 MSI models have the same graphics subsystem – nVidia GeForce Go 7600, which guarantees fine performance. As it is a bit more expensive than the L735 model, it is clear that it will only be interesting to the fashion-conscious gamers or female ones.

The MSI Q677 Crystal Edition isn't available at your local Best Buy or Circuit City. MSI laptops are plagued by the same hurdles as ASUS's laptops are: lack of retail presence, direct sales, or Web availability. At least ASUS laptops are beginning to show up in retail channels such as Best Buy. Overall, the Q677 is a formidably equipped media laptop that isn't outrageously priced and deserves some recognition for its aesthetics. However, its middling performance and limited availability are factors that will make consumers flock to the Dells and HPs instead.

NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600: The NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 is a middle class video card of the 7000 series and suited for games of the year 2006. The performance is very similar to ATI X1600 / X1700. Compared to the desktop 7600 it is clearly slower.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

AMD Turion 64 X2: AMD Turion 64 X2 is intended to be positioned against the Intel Core Duo was presented in 17. May 2006. The current consumption is not higher than with Centrino-Duo-notebooks (TL-45 with ATI Xpress and Mobility Radeon X300). This means, that approximative the same battery runtime and fan functions can be expected (with this chipset). However, the performance was 20% below the T2300 (1.66 GHz) due to the lower L2 Cache (Core Duo has 2048 Kbyte shared L2 Cache). Nevertheless, the performance is sufficient.
TL-50: In 90nm produced dual core processor with a low clock rate of 1.6 GHz. The TL-50 is still based on the K8 core and compareable to a slower clocked Core Duo.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
15.40":
15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.2.9 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI) was founded in 1986 in Taiwan. MSI is especially known as a manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards for PCs, but also offers computer accessories, complete systems, motherboards, graphics cards, laptops, desktop PCs, monitors and other components. However, the Microstar brand name in Germany belongs to the Medion company. MSI is known for its gaming products and has developed a wide range of gaming laptops and desktop PCs. The company is also active in workstations, servers and industrial automation. MSI has offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
68%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
