Xiaomi's next-gen flagship lineup, the Xiaomi 16 series, is expected to debut in late September or early October as some of the first devices with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. New leaks have now revealed more information on the premium phones ahead of that.
As shared by Digital Chat Station, the two smallest Xiaomi 16 series devices will feature 6.3-inch displays, while the larger one will sport a 6.8-inch screen. From previous leaks, it's all but certain that the 6.3-inch phones will be branded as the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro, with the 6.8-inch model being an all-new Xiaomi 16 Pro Max. The Xiaomi 16 Ultra is expected to sport a 6.8-inch display as well, but will not launch alongside the other three models this year.
Reportedly, the Xiaomi 16 series will debut a new rear camera design identical to that of the iPhone 17 Pro phones. To be exact, that means a large horizontal camera matrix at the back of the phones, with three lenses stacked in a triangular array. This design, is said to be specific to the Xiaomi 16 Pro and Xiaomi 16 Pro Max, though, leaving the standard Xiaomi 16 looking mostly unchanged from the Xiaomi 15.
Camera-wise, the vanilla Xiaomi 16 is tipped to come equipped with a traditional telephoto lens and a main camera sourced from Omnivision. Both the Xiaomi 16 Pro and Xiaomi 16 Pro Max, however, will feature periscope telephoto lenses and sensors from Smartsens, much like the Xiaomi 16 Ultra is rumored to.
