The S-X1 is a new and very affordable drone that’s equipped with a GPS module, which should make it easy to handle even for beginners. It also comes with a controller with a built-in display, but there are probably some significant limitations regarding the camera.
We've previously reported on multiple rather affordable drones that can serve as alternatives to more expensive DJI drones, which are available from $199 on Amazon. The LSRC S-X1 falls into that category and is now available via import on Banggood for $128 plus $4 shipping to the US. As is typical with these imports, customers should expect longer shipping times and should be aware of the lacking customer service and potential import duties.
Anyhow, this budget drone weighs 237 grams and offers a flight time of approximately 23 minutes. The battery takes around 120 minutes for a full charge, while the controller sports a 5.9-inch screen, which can be used to look at the images captured by the drone. Pictures can be transmitted over a distance of up to 3,280 feet.
According to LSRC, the S-X1 comes with a GPS module, which means that the drone can automatically return to the starting point with the push of a single button. However, the camera only offers Full-HD resolution, which is considerably lower than the 4K camera sensor found in more premium drones. Nonetheless, the camera is movable since it’s mounted on a gimbal.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
