Huawei MateBook 14 updated with 2.8K OLED panel and Intel Meteor Lake

Huawei has launched a more affordable laptop alongside its flagship MateBook X Pro 2024. It is a new version of the MateBook 14 launched earlier. While it still packs a ton of high-end features, the MateBook 14 2024 misses some goodies such as a Thunderbolt port. Instead, you get three USB-C ports (2x 3.2 Gen 2 + 1 "All Purpose), an HDMI port and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Plus, it is a bit heaver at 1.39 kg and comes in just one colour. Its price and availability will be revealed at a later time.

Unfortunately, Huawei doesn't specify which processor powers the MateBook 14 2024, simply stating that it uses an Intel Meteor Lake SKU that "allows for 40 Watt TDP", which points to the Core Ultra 9 185H. It is paired with an Intel Arc iGPU, 32 GB of RAM and an unknown amount of storage. A 70 Wh battery powers the laptop, which supports USB PD, UFCS, and Huawei's proprietary SuperCharge standards. On standby, you can use the laptop to charge peripherals at up to 40 Watts. 

The Huawei MatePad 14 ships with a 14.2-inch 2.8K (2880 x 1920) OLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, 450 nits peak brightness and dynamic refresh rate that scales between 48 Hz and 120 Hz. The panel uses PWM dimming at 1,920 Hz, meaning it shouldn't affect sensitive users as much. It is touch-enabled and comes with 10-point multi-touch support. You can also use Huawei's M-Pencil to draw and take notes. Like the MateBook X Pro 2024, the MatePad 14 seamless integrates with compatible Huawei tablets and smartphones. Other Huawei MateBook 14 specs include a 1080p webcam (privacy shutter not included), Wi-Fi 6 and AI-powered noise cancellation.
