Samsung is now rolling out the July security update to its 2020 flagship phones, the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series. Phones in the two lineups get heavy OTAs weighing upwards of 800 MB, with the S20 series' listing camera improvements in the changelog.

Samsung typically leads the rest of the pack when it comes to monthly updates and the company is continuing that fine form with the July update. After rolling out the patch to the Galaxy S10 series days ago, Samsung is now sending it out to the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 series.

The update for the Galaxy S20 series bears the software designation "G98xFXXU8DUF9" for the LTE models and "G98xBXXU8DUF9" for the 5G models. The update weighs in at a hefty 811 MB. If that file size wasn't indication enough, this update brings some important changes, most notably to the camera app. There are also improvements to the Quick Share feature.

For the Galaxy Note 20 series, the OTA arrives with the build number "N98xxXXU2DUF8". It's even heavier than the Galaxy S20 series' OTA, weighing in at over 1 GB. No camera improvements are listed in the changelog, but there appear to be improvements to the QR Scanner app. The updates for the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 are currently rolling out in Europe—Germany, in particular—and will likely get to US models shortly.
