Google is reportedly working on an AI-assisted feature for the Play Store that will let it answer user queries on apps and help them discover new ones. According to an APK teardown by Android Authority, Google Play Store version 43.3.32-31 has new strings dedicated to "Ask a Question", which seems to be the name of this feature.
The publication had earlier reported on AI-generated FAQs for the Play Store that automatically adds a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page to app listings that tells users basic details about an app.
According to the report, it will likely be a button that is present on app listings and search results. Users can tap the button and enter their queries, prompting the AI to generate answers. Theoretically, this could help with app discovery as well. Google hasn't announced anything about the feature, nor is it live on the Play Store. It is also worth noting that not all features discovered in the code make it to the final builds.
