While it may have taken around 5 months, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is finally approaching its official MSRP of $599. When AMD released the card back in March, the RX 9070 XT for $599 was supposed to be the best GPU deal available on the market, as its intended rival, the RTX 5070 Ti, was retailing for much more than its $749 MSRP.
Sadly, the RX 9070 XT failed to make the intended impact, as the actual street pricing of the GPU was nowhere close to the $599 AMD promised. This wasn’t due to any shortage of supply on Team Red’s part, as reports did indicate that AMD had prepared tons of RX 9070 XT supply. The incessant increase in the RX 9070 XT's price could have been a combination of demand considerably outweighing supply, and fewer MSRP RX 9070 XT vs non-MSRP AIB cards.
It now seems that the demand for the RX 9070 XT has subsided to the point that AIB cards are getting closer to $600. The data, which was shared by TechEpiphany on X, shows the downward trend of the ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend. The card is now priced close to $600.
This pricing trend is roughly in line with current GPU prices on retailers like Best Buy, where the RX 9070 XT has been selling for well under $700. However, there are still tons of RX 9070 XT that are obscenely overpriced. For instance, the cheapest RX 9070 XT on Newegg and Amazon is around $699.99 and $719.99, respectively.
TechEpiphany claims that, per their sources, this reduction in RX 9070 XT street pricing is because “demand has faded”. So, assuming it is true, prices could slide even more, especially since Nvidia and AMD are likely to introduce more GPU options towards the end of this year.
