Garmin has released a new stable update for some smartwatches, software version 8.11. This release brings new watch faces and the Device Passcode feature to these wearables. Plus, users of the Lily 2 and Lily 2 Classic smartwatches gain three other minor changes with this latest update.

The Garmin Lily 2 and Lily 2 Classic smartwatches are receiving software version 8.11. This stable software update follows the February release, firmware version 7.10, which brought Body Battery TrueUp to these wearables.

Users of the Lily 2 series smartwatches gain new watch faces with software version 8.11. Plus, these wearables now support the Device Passcode tool, which has already arrived for other models like the Venu 3 and vivoactive 5. The feature allows you to create a four-digit pin for an extra layer of security for your watch. Users are asked for their passcode when the watch is detected as off their wrist or after an extended period of time.

On top of this, there are three other updates for the Sensor Hub (version 34.12), GCM Translations (version 8.10) and Text Translations (version 8.10). Unfortunately, it is unclear precisely how users will benefit from these three changes.

The Garmin Lily 2 Series software version 8.11 is now available to download via Garmin Express or Garmin Connect Mobile. According to a recent post on the brand’s forum, it is already available for all users of the Lily 2 and Lily 2 Classic smartwatches (curr. from $249.99 at Amazon).
