Dreaming Sarah, a surreal indie adventure inspired by Yume Nikki, is free for a very limited time on Indiegala (until June 17). You can explore her coma dreamworld, solve puzzles, and collect odd items in this short narrative gem - now at no cost.

You wake up, but something’s off. There's a floating fish with a hat giving you vague advice, and your legs feel like they’re underwater. Welcome to Dreaming Sarah, a game that plays more like a confused memory than a platformer - and right now, it’s free to keep on Indiegala.

Originally released in 2019, the game follows Sarah, a young girl who’s fallen into a coma. But instead of endless hospital beds and dream sequences lifted from Grey’s Anatomy, you’re dropped into a pastel-pixel world where things get weird real fast. You’re gliding around with an umbrella, swimming as a fish with a magic necklace, and shrinking Alice-style to solve puzzles. Areas range from haunted mansions to the literal moon.

The gameplay is somewhat light on combat - it’s more about exploration and passive puzzle-solving. One Steam reviewer wrote: "This game feels like a soft fever dream you never want to wake up from," while another compared it to a low-budget Yume Nikki for the modern age.

Dreaming Sarah has received high praise over the years for its ambient soundtrack and mood. On Steam, user reviews average out to "Mostly Positive", with particular appreciation for the visual storytelling and whimsical design.

While some players might bounce off the game’s abstract structure and minimal hand-holding - it has carved its niche as a standout experience for fans of psychological indies, retro pixel art, and bite-sized narrative puzzles.

Dreaming Sarah is available for free on Indiegala until the end of tomorrow (June 17). Once added to your account, it's yours to keep permanently. Please note that you need to be logged in order to claim it. You can then download the game as a DRM-free executable directly from Indiegala’s website - it doesn’t rely on a separate launcher unless the game specifically requires one (which Dreaming Sarah doesn’t).
