But instead of endless hospital beds and dream sequences lifted from Grey’s Anatomy, you’re dropped into a pastel-pixel world where things get weird real fast. You’re gliding around with an umbrella, swimming as a fish with a magic necklace, and shrinking Alice-style to solve puzzles. Areas range from haunted mansions to the literal moon.

The gameplay is somewhat light on combat - it’s more about exploration and passive puzzle-solving. One Steam reviewer wrote: "This game feels like a soft fever dream you never want to wake up from," while another compared it to a low-budget Yume Nikki for the modern age.

Dreaming Sarah has received high praise over the years for its ambient soundtrack and mood. On Steam, user reviews average out to "Mostly Positive", with particular appreciation for the visual storytelling and whimsical design.
