With every new update, Fallout 76 receives new and interesting content, and the latest one was no different. Yesterday, the ‘Gone Fission’ update went live, and it brought along elaborate fishing gameplay - complete with baits and weather effects. And so far, players seem to be loving it.
A new post on the Fallout 76 subreddit praised the new gameplay. “Fishing is my newest favourite addition” - the title itself sums up players’ sentiments.
“Seriously, I'm a sucker for fishing in any game so when this first got announced it easily became my most anticipated season. Is it the greatest fishing in gaming? No, but it's got a charm to it that I just can't get enough of,” the author wrote in the post.
Other players who share similar opinions put down their thoughts in the comments. “Yeah, I think the new fishing mechanic is very fun, and I’m a collector at heart, so I can’t wait to catch all the different axolotls and special fish and display them,” a Reddit user wrote.
Another user pointed out that the new mechanics weren’t complicated, “The fishing is definitely a welcome addition! Learning curve wasn’t bad either.”
Meanwhile, another user mentioned that the Gone Fission update seemed a lot better than the previous one. “I was worried because I liked the concept, but saw how they fumbled caravans, but was pleasantly surprised at how much I've enjoyed fishing so far,” the user wrote in comments.
Some other players want more fishing content - like bait crafting and fish tanks for displays. “I wish we could craft our own bait,” a user suggested. “Can't wait for them to add fish tanks and displays. Someone said earlier they are working on it,” another user added to the list of demands.
Overall, it looks like a lot of Fallout 76 players are loving the new update. It remains to be seen whether the developers will listen to player feedback and add some more fishing-themed content to the game.
