Deal | Epic Games Store kicks off penultimate free game giveaway of September 2025
The Epic Games Store has now refreshed its free game of the week offerings on PC after offering a bumper crop of titles last week. To recap, Monument Valley 2, The Battle of Polytopia and Ghostunner 2 (curr. $33.59 on Amazon) will remain available to claim until 15:00 UTC later today.
Previously, Epic Games indicated that Project Winter and Samorost 2 would drop to $0.00 each today. At the time of writing, only Project Winter of the two remains listed on the Free Games section of Epic Games' website. A survival game, Project Winter is a cross-platform title with support for up to eight players at any one time.
Currently, Project Winter averages 75/100 on Metacritic but 68/100 on OpenCritic with a 55% critics' recommendation. Meanwhile, the game manages a Very Positive rating on Steam. Ultimately, the main criticisms of Project Winter centre on lobbies or gamers spoiling the fun.
Reportedly, Samorost 2 should also be discounted from $4.99 to $0.00 later today, too. Epic Games appears to have a bumper crop of mobile game giveaways in the works for later today too. Please see Epic Games' website for more details.
