Epic Games Store has kicked off its next round of free PC games, available from August 14 until August 21. As we have discussed previously, this week's lineup includes the award-winning Hidden Folks and Totally Reliable Delivery Service, a chaotic physics-based game that is more of a sandbox alternative to Moving Out (curr. $24.99 on Amazon).
First released in 2017 by Adriaan de Jongh and Sylvain Tegroeg, Hidden Folks is a hand-drawn hidden object game inspired by Where's Waldo?. As the review video below highlights, the game tasks players with searching through monochrome landscapes and clicking, moving or tapping objects to reveal invisible elements. Currently, Hidden Folks holds an Overwhelmingly Positive rating from over 7,400 reviews on Steam, as well as 73/100 and 78/100 ratings on OpenCritic and Metacritic, respectively.
Meanwhile, Totally Reliable Delivery Service launched in 2020 and generally averages lower review scores across the board than Hidden Folks. Set around delivering packages in a vibrant sandbox environment, Totally Reliable Delivery Service can even be played in single-player mode or with up to four players in a co-operative mode. Unfortunately, the game's controls are frequently referenced as a point of frustration. This week's free games can be picked up on Windows and macOS from today at 15:00 UTC. Please see Epic Games' Hidden Folks and Totally Reliable Delivery Service store listings for more details.
