Another day, another brand-new mini PC with capable specs arriving in China. The DeskOne T2 mini PC is the latest from the brand Topfeel, packing up to the powerful AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 "Strix Point" APU. More affordable variants are also present, powered by the Ryzen 7 H 255 APU.
The AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU, which sits inside the higher-tier variants of the DeskOne T2 mini PC hardly needs an introduction. Based on the Zen 5 architecture, this powerful Strix Point APU packs 12 cores and 24 threads, and is in the same league as the Core Ultra 9 285H CPU from Intel in synthetic benchmarks. Although benchmarks hardly tell the full story, the HX 370 APU is more than likely to satiate the requirements of almost any CPU-intensive workload.
There is no room for discrete graphics in this tiny 1.3-liter mini PC, although the system does have an OCuLink port which should theoretically allow for much faster eGPU connections compared to USB4. That said, the Radeon 890M iGPU is no slouch either, and should be sufficient for some casual low-end gaming and lightweight workloads. The cheaper variant of the Topfeel DeskOne T2 mini PC packs the AMD Ryzen 7 H 255 APU, which is almost exactly the same as the Zen 4-based octa-core Ryzen 7 8745H APU, and is roughly 11% behind the HX 370 in raw performance. The system offers the following I/O:
- HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1
- Dual 2.5G Ethernet
- OCuLink
- Dual USB4 Type-C
- USB 2.0 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, Dual USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- 3.5 mm audio jack
Memory requirements of the mini PC are taken care of by dual SODIMM slots, which can accommodate up to 128 GB of DDR5-5600 memory. The DeskOne T2 mini PC also features a cooling system with a single large fan and four heat pipes, which is likely enough to keep thermals in check. Storage requirements are taken care of by triple M.2 slots.
The DeskOne T2 is constructed from anodized aluminum, and starts at 2399 Yuan (~$336) for the Ryzen 7 H 255-powered barebones variant. The highest-end variant with 32 GB of memory, Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, and 1 TB storage is priced at 5499 Yuan (~$770). A global launch is not in sight, for now at least. Folks who still want to get their hands on a Strix Point mini PC, can opt for systems such as the Minisforum AI X1 Pro, currently available for $1,250 on Amazon.
