Chuwi's latest laptop is the product of a successful IndieGoGo campaign. While the package is wrapped in a nice shell, the AeroBook ultimately falls short of other compact notebooks. This is largely in part to its outdated 6th-generation Core m3 CPU.

If you need great battery life, this Chuwi AeroBook is not for you. But for a general purpose laptop, it offers a great design, reasonable performance, and as much RAM and SSD storage as machines that cost quite a bit more. So when you factor that in, the $499 MSRP is still rather attractive. If Chuwi is going to continue to try and compete in higher brackets, they will need to address some of their faults, but at the $500 range, the Chuwi AeroBook still offers a lot for the price.

The Chuwi Aerobook will appeal to those who want a Windows laptop with a sprinkle of MacBook DNA. It is keenly priced for what it offers and despite some minor niggles, this notebook will appeal to those looking for a bargain with a killer design.

One way to cut manufacturing costs is to use older components. So, what happens when you use a processor that's nearly five years old? For $600 to $700 USD, results aren't half bad.

Note this is a pre-release loan unit I reviewed, the touchpad issue will be fixed in the final version, the lowest screen brightness will be lowered, Chuwi will also post a guide on how to boot Linux and correct battery capacity will be shown in the final model I've been told.

The AeroBook Pro is the 2020 refresh designed to replace the 2019 AeroBook. Despite what the name may suggest, however, both performance and the chassis remain almost exactly the same for no tangible year-over-year advantages.

77.53%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
