Casio’s first mechanical watches under the Edifice brand - EFK-100D series - are now reportedly going on sale in Japan starting July 11, 2025, with reservations opening at midnight on July 1. The announcement, posted on Japanese retailers and news blogs, applies to the stainless steel models revealed earlier this month: the carbon dial EFK-100CD-1AJF, and the regular variants.
The pre-order listing confirms that all five models will become available across platforms such as Amazon Japan, Rakuten, and Yahoo Shopping. Prices match those previously disclosed - 55,000 yen (approx. $379) for the forged carbon dial model, and 49,500 yen (approx. $341) for the stainless dial versions.
As per Great G-Shock World, the carbon variant is expected to be the fastest-selling due to its use of resin-embedded forged carbon material, often found in high-performance automotive components. If you're looking to get one, early purchase is your best option, likely due to limited initial production quantities across all variants.
The EFK-100D lineup is a monumental turning point for Casio as it enters the automatic mechanical watch space for the first time. The watches feature 100-meter water resistance, 40-hour power reserves, 24-jewel movements, and visible casebacks within a compact 39 mm housing. The global release for the same models - excluding the Japan-only carbon fiber case edition - is scheduled to begin in August 2025.
