Beeline Moto II: New, compact and robust navigation system with turn-by-turn navigation
The Beeline Moto II, a navigation system for motorcyclists in particular, is currently being funded as part of a Kickstarter campaign. As the name suggests, this is not the manufacturer's first product: there have been numerous improvements compared to the previous generation.
For example, the IPS display now has a resolution of 412 x 412 and is now significantly larger with a diameter of 53 millimeters instead of 50 millimeters. Users will also benefit from a special coating that reduces reflections and repels water. The standard version of the Beeline Moto II also uses aluminum, which promises greater stability.
The battery has increased significantly from 350 mAh to 600 mAh. The core functionality, navigation, has also been greatly improved: the Beeline Moto II now also offers real turn-by-turn navigation, and a compass mode can still be used. A small map can be displayed and allows users to quickly view upcoming sections of the route. The speed and the expected arrival time are also displayed. Alarms can be given via an LED or acoustically.
The device is intended for installation on any motorcycle, although nothing prevents it from being mounted on a bicycle. The IP67-certified system depends on a smartphone for navigation, and the buttons on the Beeline Moto II are said to be easy to operate, even when wearing gloves. The second version is recharged not only via a proprietary charging port, but also via USB-C.
As part of the Kickstarter campaign, supporters are promised a unit from a contribution of just under $180. Even though the campaign has already successfully reached its goal, it nevertheless still comes with not-insignificant financial risk for supporters. The predecessor model is available for purchase via Amazon.
