The Barnes & Noble Nookcolor, is a brand of electronic-book reader developed by American book retailer Barnes & Noble. It is based on the Android platform. According to latest updates, the tablet has been showing instances of being hacked effortlessly. Here’s what all is possible with the Barnes & Noble Nookcolor which is actually a color eBook reader. You can root the Android operating system, install third party apps, update the Android OS, and even install Ubuntu Linux. And the joy ride does not stop just yet; you can even overclock the NOOKcolor to run at 950 MHz or faster.

Technically it is possible to increase the efficiency and power saving that you can get out of the Nookcolor by installing a custom kernel that makes it possible to reduce the voltage and ramp up the processor’s clock speed. The NOOKcolor can be further be made to run at 1 GHz, but practically the speed has not been touted to increase the device’s productivity.
