Barnes & Noble brings Nook e-reader to the UK

Teaser
Beginning in October, Barnes and Noble will begin selling their Nook e-reader in the UK via an online store and retail partners

In a press release today, Barnes and Noble announced that they will be expanding their operations to include the United Kingdom. The offered content will only include digital content initially, but the possibility of future physical stores was not eliminated.

Based on the release, a digital storefront for the U.K. will be launched at www.nook.co.uk sometime this October. Only the Nook Simple Touch and Simple Touch GlowLight will be offered at launch, with no word about the 7" Nook Tablet's availability. In addition, the online store will include all of Barnes and Noble's digital content, and the plan is to partner with British retailers in order to sell the physical devices.

Till now Barnes and Noble has kept their operations stateside, but the time is ripe for a move overseas with Amazon's Kindle holding onto most of the international e-reader market. Pricing details and availability have yet to be announced, but further info should be available in the coming weeks.
