Asus has unveiled the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Dhahab OC Edition during a special launch event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The card features an arabesque design with golden accents, blending traditional Arabic calligraphy with modern elements.
The product's backplate showcases soaring skyscrapers, symbolizing how the Middle East combines its cultural heritage with technological advancement.
The card will reportedly be available exclusively across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions.
RTX 5090 Dhahav OC's features
- Ultra-rigid metal case: A die-cast frame, shroud, and backplate reinforce the PCB, with a 304 stainless steel I/O bracket for secure mounting.
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad: This liquefying thermal pad is supposed to maximize heat dissipation by filling microscopic gaps between the GPU and heat sink.
- Patented vapor chamber: A milled vapor chamber allows heat pipes to pass through unflattened, improving thermal efficiency by over 10%.
- Asus GPU guard & bracket: Reinforced GPU mounting reduces the risk of structural damage to either the card or the motherboard (which is definitely something to be careful about, considering certain custom RTX 5000 cards weigh over 3 kg. Asus does not disclose the 5090 Dhahav OC's weight, unfortunately).
- The card sports two HDMI 2.1b and three DisplayPort 2.1b video outputs. Weirdly enough, there is no USB-C/Thunderbolt port here.
- Like any other RTX 5090 card, the product has 21,760 CUDA cores and a massive 32 GB of VRAM.
- Dimensions: 357.6 x 149.3 x 76 mm / 14.1 x 5.9 x 3 inches.
AI-related upgrades
Based on Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture, the GeForce RTX 50 series delivers new AI-powered features:
- DLSS 4: AI frame generation and image upscaling for smoother gameplay.
- NIM services: Real-time AI applications, including voice recognition and virtual assistants.
- Ray Tracing enhancements: More efficiently calculated lighting, reflections, and shadows for improved visual realism.
- Increased AI compute power: Fifth-gen Tensor cores and Fourth-gen Ray Tracing cores.
There is no word on pricing yet. Considering that its less shiny sibling, the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 32 GB GDDR7 OC Edition, is priced at $3,079.99, and seeing how much love the new cards get from scalpers, it's safe to say very few customers will be able to afford the Dhahav OC card.
