Asus made the NUC 15 Pro mini PC line official at CES 2025, and the systems finally hit the shelves, right after SimplyNUC introduced its Cyber Canyon range. There are multiple systems within the series and the cheapest one that's currently available to purchase starts at $699.
It's the barebone version of the NUC 15 Pro Slim, which packs the Intel Core Ultra 7 255H. While that $699 configuration doesn't have any storage or memory pre-installed, Asus has confirmed that there's support for up to 96 GB of DDR5 RAM, and it can hold up to 8 TB of PCIe 5.0 storage.
Of course, the lineup also features a Tall variant, and it seems that this variant of the NUC 15 Pro is currently only available to pre-order on Adorama. As for what sets the Tall and Slim variants apart, it's support for accessories, with the Tall version having support for expansion modules.
There are Pro+ models as well, which have only hit Newegg, it seems, with the current most affordable option being the barebone configuration of the NUC 15 Pro Plus with the Core Ultra 9 285H. The non-Plus mini PCs will eventually have more affordable options featuring non-Ultra Intel 200 series APUs.
As for the options with Core Ultra 200 series APUs, they are going against the mini PCs that feature the AMD Ryzen AI 300 series. However, given that most of the recently launched AMD-powered systems sport LPDDR5X RAM, there aren't many with affordable, barebone configurations.
