Asus Eee PC 1015B and 1215B get official launch dates and pricing

The Asus Eee PC 1015B and 1215B first made appearances at CES this year and appeared again just last week at the CeBIT expo in Germany. The laptops are notable for their AMD Fusion APUs, thus they should be able to provide smooth 1080p playback through HDMI while keeping a solid battery life. No announcements regarding prices and release dates were mentioned, however, until just recently.

Asus has posted on their CampusLife website what prospective buyers should expect when the laptops become available. The Eee PC 1015B will be priced at just $289.99 while the Eee PC 1215B will be at $379.99. Both laptops should be shipping sometime this April.

Eee PC 1015B

• Single-core AMD Brazos C-30 processor at 1.2GHz with Radeon 6250 graphics
• 10.1-inch screen at 1024x600 pixel resolution
• 1GB RAM
• 250GB HDD
• HDMI-out, 2x USB 3.0

Eee PC 1215B

• Dual-core AMD Brazos C-50 processor at 1.0GHz with Radeon 6310 graphics
• 12.1-inch screen at 1366x768 pixel resolution
• 1GB RAM
• 250GB HDD
• HDMI-out, 2x USB 3.0, Bluetooth 3.0

Additionally, Asus will be offering a higher-end build of the 1215B for $449.99. This version will run on the more powerful dual-core Fusion E-350 at 1.6GHz with Radeon HD 6315 graphics, have a larger 320GB HDD, and contain 2GB of RAM. Look for these laptops next month in available colors of white, black, blue, silver, and red.
