Apple silently removes Open Sky Environment feature from Vision Pro introductory video and website
Apple introduced the Vision Pro at WWDC 2023. With this announcement, we also got an introductory video that showcased the mixed reality headset in 9 minutes and 22 seconds. Now, the video is 9 minutes and 11 seconds (attached at the end). That is, Apple has now put an updated video with 11 seconds less than before.
These 11 seconds showcased a feature called Open Sky Environment, which would've allowed users to "magically replace" their ceilings "with a clear, open sky." As spotted by @M1Astra, Apple has also removed the references to this feature from the official web page for the Vision Pro.
The text where Apple wrote about the feature now talks about the ability to turn the users' room into a personal movie theatre. It's called Cinema Environment, which shouldn't be mistaken as a new feature, though. Apple Vision Pro's introductory video showcased this feature before, and the video still has it. It's just that Apple didn't mention the Cinema Environment feature in texts on the web page before.
All these mean that the Vision Pro will likely not launch with the Open Sky Environment feature. If that's actually the case, Apple made a good decision removing it from the official video and websites. After all, users would've complained about the feature being absent from the wearable spatial computing headset when it's in the marketing materials.
Apple has possibly cut the Open Sky Environment feature that replaces your ceiling, from Apple Vision Pro.
