Zepp Health has released another update for the Amazfit Helio Strap: version 3.2.8.3. This release brings a new heart rate related metric for users of the fitness tracker. Rolling out in phases, it also includes a new remote restart tool and an optimization for excessive calorie consumption.

A new update has arrived for the Amazfit Helio Strap. Version 3.2.8.3, a 2.25 MB file, arrives a couple of weeks after the last update. This earlier release, version 3.1.8.2, brought optimizations for the heart rate and sleep algorithms.

With the version 3.2.8.3 release, Amazfit Helio Strap users gain a new Recovery Heart Rate metric. Available to users with Zepp App version 9.12.0 or later, this tool enables users to monitor the speed at which their heart rate returns to its resting state following a workout.

Another change arriving with this version of the Zepp App is a remote device restart function, allowing users to reboot the Helio Strap from their smartphone. The release notes also list an optimization for calorie tracking. Users have reported that, following a workout, the calorie consumption figure could be excessive; this issue is said to have been resolved. On top of this, there are said to be other feature optimizations which are not detailed.

A phased rollout of software version 3.2.8.3 is underway, likely reaching users in the US, Canada and Italy first. Users of the Amazfit Helio Strap (curr. $99.99 at Amazon) will be able to trigger the update via the Zepp App.
