Zepp Health is rolling out an update for the Amazfit Helio Strap, version 3.1.8.2. It arrives several weeks after the previous software release, version 3.1.2.3, which optimized the BioCharge metric and improved the automatic activity recognition feature.
The release notes for version 3.1.8.2 were shared by an Amazfit Helio Strap user on Reddit. This update is said to bring more optimizations, this time for the heart rate algorithm, which is said to be more accurate during workouts. Plus, the company has tackled a bug that led to missing heart rate readings.
There are also enhancements for the sleep score, which is now less likely to overestimate the quality of your sleep thanks to the addition of REM and HRV factors to the algorithm. On top of this, a problem with missing sleep records has been fixed. Both the missing heart rate and sleep data issues were said to be caused by a “chip problem”. The final two lines of the release notes (below) indicate that a connection related issue has been resolved, and that there are other, more minor bug fixes.
Version 3.1.8.2, a 2.46 MB file, appears to be rolling out in phases to users of the Amazfit Helio Strap (curr. $99.99 at Amazon). When it is available in your country, it will be downloadable via the Zepp app. In other news, the company has recently released the Helio Armband accessory for users in the US and Europe.
